I love Vogue 1239, despite the ninja scientist vibe. Or possibly because of it.

The strange-looking sleeves are actually very comfortable to wear, although they were tricky to sew.

And it goes with my new shoes. I think it will be OK with flats too.

I think this has taken a whole month to sew. I’d like to make it again, but I need a break first!
Very cool, looks like it was worth the effort!
I love the dress. It looks fantastic!
Those sleeves are so fabulous!
Wow. This is so nice a dress! You definitely missed the “lab coat” look that a lighter fabric would suggest, and the dark colour still shows up all the lovely design detailing. i really really like this dress, and want to make it up myself. I just haven’t found that perfect fabric that I’m in love with… yet….
Wow, this looks fabulous, especially with those shoes! What a great pairing!
Fabulous! Love the shoes too.
I know what you mean about long projects being wearying. I am still making a winter coat (it is still winter here, but still, this should have been done a month ago!). All I can think of is the next project.
I love the ninja scientist look, it looks very couture – especially the amazing sleeves.
Bravo!
Wow! The coat is just beautiful– and looks as amazing from the back as it does from the front! And the sleeves….!
I didn’t love this pattern when I saw it, but you made a fantastic version that looks great on you. And anything that can be accurately described as ninja scientist chic is awesome. 🙂
I think your version is much, much better than the Vogue photo, because you have the Ninja scientist vibe, the futurist hair to go with and the right silhouette. Brilliant.
(Gave you a shout-out on my kimono entry earlier this week.)
Oh you brave girl, you made the Pucci! I think it is stunning. Just came across your blog today and am much impressed.
