Ninja scientist

Vogue 1239 is finished. On Wednesday I thought I was practically at the end and one more sewing session would do it. Wild optimism. That one session turned into three. Endless topstitching, head-scratching, hand sewing, seam ripping and one wrecked manicure later, it’s done. It was totally worth it. I am hoping to take some better pictures tomorrow!

And if anyone’s wondering about the title, that’s what my husband said when he saw it on me. I think he has a point but it was still worth it.

  1. Your husband is a hoot. Thank God I don’t have a significant other to see me in some of the stuff I sew. I don’t think I could hack the comments. Beautiful dress and can’t wait to see it on you!

  2. Ohhh my gooood I want this one pls – without 67 steps 😀
Wanted to comment on the kimono but it was not possible however very nice to see it live – you picked the perfect fabric 😀
Now put it on put it on we wanna see

  3. Nooo, No Ninja scientist! Ignore him. I’m looking forward to seeing it worn. I’m completely intrigued by this pattern and still gobsmacked by the 67 steps. I get the impression the Ralph Rucci Vogue patterns are pretty full on from your comments.

  4. YAY!!!! I love it! And yes, post more pics, please! And if your DH is anything like mine, he might learn (through trial and error) to choose his *complimentary* words more judiciously. That dress is a piece of art, so enjoy it and wear it with pride.
